-Eligibility for entry is dependent on the award category and may be open to businesses, groups, organisations , Not for Profits, Charities and/or individuals.
- Nominees must reside and/or carry out work on the Sunshine Coast.
- Previous winners can only nominate for a second time in each category after 3 years. All other categories will remain open to them for nominations.
-All guidelines should be addressed in your online nomination. Supporting documents and photographs should be attached with your nomination, if relevant.
-All nomination information, photos and supporting material may be used by the awards office for promotional purposes, on social and other media.
-Entrants agree to media publicity and promotion associated with the awards nomination including any photos submitted or taken at the Awards Presentation ceremony.
-Nominations close on TBA. Nominees who are selected as Finalists should endeavour to attend the Gala Awards Presentation Dinner on 2022 TBA.
-Inability to attend does not disqualify entry.
-Previous winners are not eligible to nominate in an Award category they have already won in the last 4 years.
-Nominees may only enter a maximum of 3 categories.
-Review the general information and category guidelines. Using the category guidelines determine the most suitable category (nominees may enter more than one category, however, we require a separate application for each nomination).
-Your nomination should address the guidelines listed for the relevant Award category. The nomination should clearly demonstrate the achievements of the nominee. NOTE: there is 200 word minimum and a 750 word limit per question. Please advise us if you need assistance with your application.
-Check all guidelines to ensure you do not miss out on important points. Upload at least one headshot of the nominee, or for groups/organisations a photo showing the people involved or activity is undertaken.
-Upload copies of relevant newspaper articles, awards, certificates, photographs, etc. They need to be recent, clear and relevant to your application.
-Sponsors and judges cannot nominate or be nominated for awards.

Best Small Community Group of the Year encompasses community groups that make a significant contribution to the Sunshine Coast Community.
Community groups play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of individuals in need while also stimulating the local economy by offering jobs, services and adding prosperity to our region.
Key Selection Criteria:
A community group that is nominated must:
The organisation must have three paid employees or under (this does not include volunteers, and can be run an individual).
Have made a significant contribution to the Sunshine Community throughout the year and/or over a number of years;
Plus
Demonstrate that it meets a community need or priority; and/or
Demonstrate that it provides exceptional service to the local community and/or
Demonstrate it has fulfilled or supported a need for individuals within the community on a social, emotional, physical or mental level to better the lives of those in need.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to apply for Best Community Group of Program you must work and operate within the Sunshine Coast region. The community organisation or service must be Not-for-Profit or run as a volunteer based service.
The organisation may be nominated for its usual services and activities or an implemented program that has been completed.
Nominations must be recognised and accepted by the nominee at least four weeks prior to the event to be a noted as a finalist and/or awarded as a category winner. Without confirmation we can not move forward with a nomination and it will not make the final stages of judging.
Nominees are expected to attend to collect their award, please notify us if this if not possible.

Sunshine Coast Community Performing Arts Group of the Year encompasses community groups that make a significant contribution to the performing arts space on the Sunshine Coast.
Performing arts are the backbone of our community, breaking down complex issues and empowering hearts. Fostering the arts allows our community to engage in dialogues between various cultures, offering platforms for important stories to be heard and an opportunity to activate those from vulnerable backgrounds into action. To ensure that we keep moving forward as a unified collective, it is essential that we recognise and celebrate the innovation born out of the performing arts space. The Sunshine Coast Performing Arts Group of the Year award does just that.
Key Selection Criteria:
A community group that is nominated must:
Have made a significant contribution to the Sunshine Coast community throughout the year and/or over a number of years;

With an aging population, aged care facilities and the services they provide are an important part of the lives of an ever-increasing number of people. The Excellence in Aged Care Award recognises and acknowledges businesses, organisations, and not for profits that have a strong focus on the provision of quality services for clients, patients, and residents in aged care or those promoting and supporting community and/or social relationships. The Award acknowledges aged care facilities, organisations, not for profits, individuals and businesses making a positive difference in this area.

The Sunshine Coast Social Commitment Award acknowledges the services, efforts, actions, and positive input provided by volunteers, carers, businesses, organisations, and health professionals. These individuals, communities and organisations create a sense of community spirit, and path the way for individuals to achieve a sense of belonging in our Sunshine Coast Community. The leaders in this category play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of those who depend on them.

The Sunshine Coast Community Inclusion Award is an award for an individual (or team), who have a verified neurological, physical, sensory, social, or emotional disability or diagnoses. Their success is from initiating and leading action(s) to remove barriers, improve the working life, engagement within the community and other areas of life. The areas covered include but are not limited to volunteering, the arts, sport, community, social groups, government, and social support.
